Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
  • Affiliate means an entity that controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a party, where "control" means ownership of 50% or more of the shares, equity interest or other securities entitled to vote for election of directors or other managing authority.
  • Application means the software programs provided by the Company, including ReCalAI and DeepDive AI.

  • Cookies are small files that are placed on Your computer, mobile device or any other device by a website, containing the details of Your browsing history on that website among its many uses.
  • Country refers to: Indiana, United States
  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to the Applications (ReCalAI and DeepDive AI) and Website.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service, or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
  • Website refers to Deep Active Mind's web properties, accessible from https://deepactivemind.com
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

About Our Services

This Privacy Policy applies to all applications and services provided by Deep Active Mind, including:

ReCalAI

An AI-powered recipe management application that allows users to:

  • Scan food photos to generate instant recipes using artificial intelligence
  • Create, save, and organize personal recipes
  • Join and participate in recipe communities
  • Share recipes and interact with other users
  • Access premium features through subscription plans

DeepDive AI

An AI-powered career development and learning platform that allows users to:

  • Engage in AI-coached learning sessions across multiple modes (Learn, Practice, Debate, Build)
  • Create and track personalized learning journeys (Job, Skill, Certification, Language)
  • Access AI-generated career insights and interview preparation
  • Participate in interactive coaching sessions with customizable AI personas
  • Track progress and achievements across learning goals
  • Access premium features through subscription plans

Both Services are available as mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web applications.

Guest Access and Anonymous Browsing

ReCalAI

ReCalAI allows guest users to browse the app without creating an account. Guest users can:

  • Browse and explore public recipes in the Explore tab
  • Discover and view public communities
  • Access Settings to customize appearance (light/dark mode)
  • View app information and documentation

Account creation is required for:

  • AI-powered recipe scanning
  • Creating and saving personal recipes
  • Joining communities and social interactions
  • Liking, commenting, or rating recipes
  • Accessing premium subscription features

DeepDive AI

DeepDive AI requires account creation to access all features, as the service is designed around personalized learning experiences and progress tracking.

Guest browsing (where applicable) does not require any personal data collection. When you create an account, you transition from guest to authenticated user, and the data collection practices described in this policy apply.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Payment information (processed securely by third-party providers - we do not store credit card information)

Authentication and Account Creation

We offer multiple authentication methods to access our Service:

  • Email and Password: Create an account using your email address and a secure password
  • Google OAuth: Sign in using your existing Google account (optional convenience feature)
  • Apple Sign In: Sign in using your Apple ID (iOS only, optional convenience feature)

Important: OAuth methods are entirely optional. All features can be accessed using email/password authentication. We limit data collection to name and email regardless of authentication method chosen.

When you authenticate with OAuth providers:

  • We receive only your name and email address
  • We do not access your contacts, files, or other services from the OAuth provider
  • You can revoke access at any time through your provider's account settings
  • Authentication is handled securely by Supabase Auth

User Content

ReCalAI - We collect and store content You create, including:

  • Food and recipe photos You upload or capture
  • Recipe information (ingredients, instructions, cooking times, serving sizes)
  • Recipe ratings and reviews
  • Comments and community posts
  • Community memberships and created communities
  • Recipe collections and favorites
  • Search queries and preferences

DeepDive AI - We collect and store content You create, including:

  • Learning session transcripts and AI coaching conversations
  • Journey data (job goals, skill targets, certification plans, language learning paths)
  • Progress tracking data (session history, completion rates, achievements)
  • User-generated notes and reflections
  • Practice session responses and feedback
  • Search queries and preferences
  • AI personalization settings (learning style, coaching tone, intensity)

Usage Data

Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.

Usage Data may include information such as Your Device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

  • The type of mobile device You use
  • Your mobile device unique ID
  • The IP address of Your mobile device
  • Your mobile operating system
  • The type of mobile Internet browser You use
  • Unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

We use Cookies and similar tracking technologies solely for app functionality and service improvement. We do NOT track users for advertising purposes or share tracking data with advertising networks.

The technologies We use include:

  • Cookies or Browser Cookies: A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. You can instruct Your browser to refuse all Cookies or to indicate when a Cookie is being sent. However, if You do not accept Cookies, You may not be able to use some parts of our Service.
  • Web Beacons: Certain sections of our Service may contain small electronic files known as web beacons for internal analytics only.

We use both Session and Persistent Cookies exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Necessary / Essential Cookies: To provide You with services and enable essential features
  • Authentication Cookies: To identify You when You sign in and keep You logged in
  • Cookies Policy / Notice Acceptance Cookies: To identify if users have accepted the use of cookies
  • Functionality Cookies: To remember choices You make on the Service to provide a more personalized experience

We do NOT:

  • Use cookies for cross-site tracking
  • Share cookie data with advertising networks

Use of Your Personal Data and User Content

The Company may use Personal Data and User Content for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service: Including to monitor the usage of our Service and ensure it functions properly.
  • To manage Your Account: To manage Your registration as a user of the Service and provide You with access to different functionalities.
  • To provide AI-powered features:
    • ReCalAI: Your food photos are sent to Google Gemini AI to generate recipe suggestions.
    • DeepDive AI: Your learning queries and session data are sent to Google Gemini AI to provide personalized coaching and content generation.
    • We do not use Your content to train our own AI models. Your data is processed by Google's AI according to their privacy policies.
  • For the performance of a contract: The undertaking of the purchase contract for products, items or services You have purchased or of any other contract with Us through the Service.
  • To contact You: To contact You by email regarding updates, informative communications, security alerts, or administrative messages related to the Service.
  • To provide You with service updates: To send You important updates about the Service, new features, security alerts, and subscription information. We do not use Your data for third-party advertising or share it with advertising networks. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time.
  • To manage Your requests: To attend and manage Your requests to Us.
  • For business transfers: To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Our assets.
  • For other purposes: Such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our features, and evaluating and improving our Service, products, services, and your experience.

How We Do NOT Use Your Data

To ensure complete transparency, we want to clarify what we do not do with your data:

✅ Security (detecting and preventing abuse)
✅ Customer support (responding to your requests)

Sharing of Your Personal Information

We may share Your personal information in the following situations:

  • With Service Providers: We share Your information with third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service, to process payments, to provide cloud storage and hosting, and to provide authentication services. These providers include:
    • Supabase - for authentication, database, and storage
    • Google Gemini AI - for AI-powered features
    • RevenueCat - for managing in-app subscriptions and web billing
    • Stripe - for processing web subscription payments
    • Google Cloud Run - for backend API hosting
  • For business transfers: In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of Company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of Our business to another company.
  • With Affiliates: We may share Your information with Our affiliates, in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
  • With business partners: We may share Your information with Our business partners to offer You certain products, services or promotions.
  • With other users: When You share personal information or otherwise interact in public areas with other users (applicable to ReCalAI communities), such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside.
  • With Your consent: We may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your consent.

Third-Party Services

Our Services use the following third-party services to operate:

Google Gemini AI

We use Google's Gemini AI service to:

  • ReCalAI: Analyze food photos and generate recipe suggestions
  • DeepDive AI: Provide AI coaching, generate learning content, and personalize user experiences

When you use AI features, your data is sent to Google's servers for processing. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's privacy policies. We do not train our own AI models with your content.

Supabase

We use Supabase for:

  • Authentication - Secure user login with OAuth and email/password
  • Database - Storing your content and account information
  • Storage - Hosting your uploaded images and files

RevenueCat

For users of our mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web platform, we use RevenueCat to manage subscription payments and entitlements. RevenueCat processes your payment information according to their privacy policy. We do not store credit card information.

Stripe

For web subscription payments, we use Stripe as our payment processor (integrated via RevenueCat). Stripe processes your payment information securely. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive payment details - this information is handled directly by Stripe. Stripe's use of your data is governed by their privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Google Cloud Run

We use Google Cloud Run to host our backend API services that power the applications.

User Content Ownership and License

You retain full ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including photos, text, and other data.

However, by using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and display your content solely for the purposes of:

  • Operating and providing the Service to you
  • Displaying your content within the Service as you direct
  • Backing up and securing your data
  • Analyzing usage patterns to improve the Service

Important clarifications:

  • We do not use your content to train AI models
  • We do not claim ownership of your content
  • We will not sell your content to third parties
  • When you delete content, we will remove it from active use, though backup copies may persist for a limited time

Public vs. Private Content (ReCalAI):

  • Content you post in public communities is visible to other users
  • Private recipes are only visible to you unless you choose to share them
  • You control the privacy settings of your recipes and communities

Data Retention

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

The Company will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or We are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

When You delete Your account, We will delete Your Personal Data and User Content from our active systems within 30 days, except where we have a legal obligation to retain certain information.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of Your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by Your submission of such information represents Your agreement to that transfer.

The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of Your data and other personal information.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that We assist in deleting the Personal Data that We have collected about You.

Account Deletion Process

Our Service provides a comprehensive account deletion feature accessible through: Settings → Account → Delete Account

Deletion Process:

  1. Navigate to Settings and select "Delete Account"
  2. First Confirmation: You will be asked to confirm your intention to delete your account
  3. Second Confirmation: You must confirm again to proceed with permanent deletion
  4. Immediate Deletion: Upon final confirmation, your account and all associated data are permanently deleted

What Gets Deleted:

  • Your account credentials and authentication data
  • All personal content (recipes, learning sessions, journeys, etc.)
  • Community memberships and created communities (ReCalAI)
  • All social interactions (likes, comments, ratings)
  • Profile information and uploaded photos
  • Subscription data (if applicable)
  • All data is removed from both our database and authentication systems

Important Notes:

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Cached or backup copies may persist for up to 30 days for technical reasons, then are permanently purged
  • If you have an active subscription, canceling it before deletion is recommended
  • Public posts you made in communities (ReCalAI) will be removed, but quoted content by other users may remain

Other Deletion Options

Our Service also gives You the ability to delete certain information about You from within the Service:

  • You can delete individual content items (recipes, sessions, journeys, etc.)
  • You can request deletion by contacting Us at privacy@deepactivemind.com

You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that You have provided to Us.

Please note, however, that We may need to retain certain information when we have a legal obligation or lawful basis to do so.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

Business Transactions

If the Company is involved in a merger, acquisition or asset sale, Your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before Your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

Law Enforcement

Under certain circumstances, the Company may be required to disclose Your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Other Legal Requirements

The Company may disclose Your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Security of Your Personal Data

The security of Your Personal Data is important to Us. We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/SSL)
  • Secure authentication systems (Supabase Auth)
  • Regular security audits
  • Limited access to personal data by employees
  • Secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Run, Supabase)

However, remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While We strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, We cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.

If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing Your information and Your country requires consent from a parent, We may require Your parent's consent before We collect and use that information.

Links to Other Websites

Our Service may contain links to other websites that are not operated by Us. If You click on a third party link, You will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise You to review the Privacy Policy of every site You visit.

We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
